A Very Emo Productions

The name absolutely rocks! What inspired ‘A Very Emo Productions’? How did you manage to launch it so smoothly?

A Very Emo started in 2023 when we just wanted to create a valentines event. We expected about 50 people but over 160 people showed up so we decided to make it bigger for 2024 and the biggest so far for 2025.

Promoters are the glue that keeps the live music scene thriving. When did you decide this was something you wanted to do?

We started hosting shows when we booked our first tour for our old band in 2017. It started out to return the favor of the bands that played or hosted us in their cities and then it blew up to a fest called Easy Fest in 2019. Unfortunately Easy Fest was a victim to Corona in 2020, but luckily we were able to bring it back in the form of A Very Emo Valentines Music Fest.

Working in music can be so rewarding. From designing flyers, to planning shows, to chatting with bands. What do you enjoy most about working in this field?

The best part has definitely been to see us bring the community together. A lot of these locals don’t get any opportunities to open up for big bands and it feels good knowing that we’re able to bring the community together to open up for big bands.

What do you hope to gain from A Very Emo Prod. in the long run?

To make it an annual thing for years to come.

Any advice for someone new in the music scene?

Don’t let anyone tell you you’re not ready to do certain things. For example, “you’re not ready for tour” if you want to tour and you planned it yourself, do the tour and meet new people, and make your community bigger.
