FOUR WHEEL DRIVE

Four Wheel Drive is probably the most satirical and intriguing band I’ve gotten to work with. With their unserious internet presence, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I mean their band name is literally Four Wheel Drive.

They swung through Midland, TX on their route back home to North Carolina from a 9-day show run through the states. Upon their arrival on 10/18 at Cotton Flat Records, I mean for as much as their frontman Jesse Weaver shitposts and takes over the internet, it was pretty cool to be met with absolute kindness from him and the rest of the band.

Four Wheel Drive describes their sound as.. and I quote.. “BACKWOODS BEATDOWN SLAMCORE TYPE SHIT” and after watching them perform live, I can attest that they are definitely backwoods beatdown slamcore type shit. Their sound and performance value is all geared toward crowd interaction. I think everyone would agree they kept us on our toes during their set.

With comical call outs, intros that hoot and holler, and breakdowns that make you make this face:

Four Wheel Drive is an all around great band to not only add to your roster, but also to your playlists.

4X4 released their debut EP “PIT BEEF” in October 2025, almost exactly one year ago today. A short nine months later they released their second EP “DOUBLEWIDE DEATH” in July 2026. The band's numbers have quickly climbed since their formation causing them to sit at approximately 31.2k monthly Spotify listeners to date. Impressive audience to reach in just a year.

This band has such a good balance of personality and strive. It’s clear they handle their business while maintaining stature and knowing at the end of the day it’s not really that serious.

"My parents ask me why I go all the way across the country to play in someone's basement, but I have friends in every state. I got to know people everywhere and it's the best thing ever." - Jesse Weaver

Midland loved having Four Wheel Drive be apart of our family for the night and can't wait for them to swing through again!
